What is the difference between AC and DC current?
This 10 minute video explains the differences and provides some insight into why our homes and workplaces are powered by AC and not DC. Edison was a renowned inventor and a proponent of DC current. He was a successful businessman and owned DC power stations that provided electricity throughout the USA. He had a problem though with how to transmit his DC electricity across modest distances and despite his best efforts he couldn’t solve it. The brilliant mathematician and engineer Nikola Tesla had the solution and it changed the way we generate and distribute electricity to this day.
